WHAT KIND OF WARRIOR IS ACHILLES? Ü

                                   
            ACHILLES is the son of KING PELEUS and THETIS. He is brutal,fearless,dauntless and the greatest warrior of all time. He is the cousin of PATROCLUS whom he treated as his total best friend but eventually,Patroclus was killed by Hector which caused Achilles to seek revenge to Hector and at the same time,to gain glory.


                           BOOK 22 of THE ILIAD : "THE DEATH OF HECTOR"
     As Achilles was coming closer,hector began to shake in fear. His courage gone,he could no longer stand there. Terrified,he started running,leaving the gate. Peleus' son went after him sure of his speed on foot(22.79-81.223). The man running in front was a brave warrior,but the man going after was greater. They run fast(22.201-202.224). In this battle,Achilles had been killed Hector with his own strength,showing no mercy,and brutally,


                              Achilles finished.  Then on noble Hector's corpse    
                         he carried out a monstrous act.  He cut through
                        the tendons behind both feet, from heel to ankle,
              threaded them with ox-hide thongs, and then tied these
                          onto his chariot, leaving the head to drag behind.
             He climbed up in his chariot, brought on the splendid armour,
                              then lashed his horses.  They sped off eagerly,                                        
                        dragging Hector.  A dust cloud rose above him,
                  his dark hair spread out round him, and Hector's head,
           once so handsome, was covered by the dust, for Zeushad given
                                          him to his enemies to     dishonour
          in his own native land.  So all his head grew dirty(22.512-523.232).

This shows how brutal Achilles is. In this battle  I saw him as a courageous warrior but not worthy to be praised,he fights for his own glory to be raised. He is fearless and unstoppable but he fights for he knows it is worth fighting. And inspite of being a brutal warrior,Achilles still showed his love for his loved ones . <3

FIGHT LIKE A MAN

     Hundred years ago there was a courageous woman who fought the struggle for freedom for our country. And that was,GABRIELA SILANG. 
     As a woman herself its hard to stand against the Spaniards who had all the powers during their time but she didn't showed any fear and still continued fighting. She led several attacks on Spanish forces but after several clashes,it was over.  Her forces including her were all captured and killed. She was the last one to die and she witnessed how each of her men were killed. 
     I know it is painful to lost and be killed in a battle but in her case she made all the Filipinos proud because she died fighting for our country. She's a woman that knows how to fight not just for her own sake but for everybody's. She just proved that women are not worth underestimated.
     She's known for her great courage. And now there was a group founded last 2000 that was named after and inspired by her that aims the demand for social justice ,equality,freedom and democracy among women.

SHE HAS BEEN AN INSPIRATION TO EVERYONE

AND KNOWING GABRIELA SILANG  MAKES ME PROUD AND THANKFUL THAT I AM A "FILIPINO WOMAN"
